The construction job-site is our most popular volunteer opportunity. You do not have to have construction experience to join in to help. We currently build in Fort Walton Beach and Crestview two days a week. Tuesdays 7 AM - 11 PM and Saturdays 7 AM - 1 PM. Poor weather and non-delivery of supplies can postpone a workday.

Getting Started
All volunteers are required to fill out a Volunteer Application. The application needs to be faxed to our office at 850.315.0429 or can be brought with you to the job-site your first day out.

Scheduling Your Volunteer Date
For volunteering on a construction site you will need to contact our volunteer coordinator, Nancy Robinson for availability, contacting her via e-mail is preferred. Please provide the following information when contacting:

Number of individuals planning to volunteer
Point of contact name and phone number
Preferred service location (FWB or Crestview)

When scheduling a group of volunteers please ensure that you have everyone on your team fill out a volunteer application. You will be supplied availability of dates, job-site location and directions.

Tuesday - Day of Construction
7:00 AM - All volunteers arrive on-site and are guided by our volunteer construction managers for the day.
10:30 AM - Clean up begins.
11:00 AM - Volunteer dismissal.

Saturday - Day of Construction
7:00 AM - All volunteers arrive on-site and are guided by our volunteer construction managers for the day.
11:00 PM - Lunch time - lunch is provided by local churches, civic groups and businesses in support of your contribution for the day.
12:30 PM - Clean up begins.
1:00 PM - Volunteer dismissal.

Important Information
What to wear: Comfortable work clothing that you do not mind getting dirty or paint stained and closed toed shoes. A hat, sunscreen and lightweight raincoat or rain poncho may be needed. Tools are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own tool belt if you would like. Water coolers and cups are provided on each site.
